-Robert Schimek-
President and Chief Executive Officer of the Americas for AIG
Topic: The Changing Landscape of Risk

Robert S. Schimek is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Americas for AIG. He is responsible for the division’s insurance business in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Previously, Mr. Schimek was located in London where he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of EMEA. Before that, Mr. Schimek was Chief Financial Officer of AIG’s property casualty business, responsible for all worldwide financial operations.

Before joining AIG, Mr. Schimek was a partner at Deloitte & Touche L.L.P. where, for 18 years, he used his public accounting experience to serve global financial institution clients, including MetLife, The Prudential, and Merrill Lynch.

Mr. Schimek is a C.P.A. He earned his M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Rider University in New Jersey and sits on the Rider University Board of Trustees.

Mr. Schimek is a member of the Executive Committee of BritishAmerican Business and the Board of Directors of BritishAmerican Business. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Council of the Americas.

Jeff Gross is a partner at Wipfli LLP’s Green Bay office and has been providing tax consulting services since 1989. He holds particular expertise and experience in closely held businesses, primarily manufacturing and distribution, construction and real estate. Jeff has a passion to serve his clients in a timely and creative fashion so he can proactively identify planning opportunities and new developments.

Jeff is an accomplished speaker and is regularly called upon to provide presentations on taxation issues. He has delivered presentations to various civic and charitable organizations.

Past Experience
Prior to joining Wipfli, Jeffrey gained 15 years of valuable experience in the tax department of a major accounting firm specializing in closely held companies.

Professional Organizations and Activities
Jeffrey is a member of the American and Wisconsin Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. He is the past treasurer for both the Appleton Breakfast Rotary and Appleton Foxspeak and is a past board member of the Institute of Management Accountants.


 - Daryl Ohland -

Daryl Ohland provides state and local tax consulting, and has over 21 years of public accounting experience and five years of experience as an auditor with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue. His state and local tax consulting experience includes representing clients before the Wisconsin Department of Revenue on such issues as sales and use taxes, private letter rulings, personal and real property taxes, nexus, and apportionment. Daryl has a proven track record of successfully representing middle-market and Fortune 500 clients alike in audits by various departments of revenue.

He has developed and implemented many Wisconsin-specific tax planning strategies to reduce sales and use taxes for his clients. Daryl has also performed numerous reviews of clients’ state tax control systems and reporting status to identify and eliminate areas of exposure through voluntary disclosure projects.

Professional Memberships and Activities
Daryl is a taxation committee member of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has received Certified in Integrated Resource Management certification from the American Production and Inventory Control Society. Daryl is also a 
member of the American and Wisconsin Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. He has been a featured speaker at the National Business Institute, Lorman Education Services, Tax Executives Institute, Financial Executives Institute, PESI, and WICPA events.

Doug Patch is the leader of the Tax Practice Group and a shareholder in the firm’s Milwaukee office. He focuses his practice on the tax and corporate law aspects of complex business transactions. Representative matters include representation of clients in tax controversy matters, private equity financings, acquisitions, tax-free reorganizations of corporations (both publicly and privately held), like-kind exchanges, equity compensation structuring and acquisitive partnership transactions. His practice also includes general tax planning.


  
 - Timothy Smith -

Tim Smith is an associate on the Tax and Employee Benefits practice group in Godfrey & Kahn’s Milwaukee office. He focuses his practice on the tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and other business transactions, as well as tax structuring, planning, and controversy matters. Tim also advises mutual fund clients on a variety of regulated investment company tax issues including tax-free reorganizations, maintenance of a fund's status as a regulated investment company, and regulatory disclosure issues. Tim also advises non-profit clients on matters regarding their tax-exempt status and assists non-profit clients and donors with structuring charitable gifts.

While in law school, Tim interned with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue's Office of General Counsel and the Chief Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
