President's Message |
Our 2016/17 Chapter Year got off to a great start on September 20 with our first chapter meeting held at the Rock Garden Conference Center in Green Bay. This was our first ever joint meeting with the local chapter of The Institute of Internal Auditors and, from comments received, very successful. For the first professional development session, Peter Gianopoulos, Director of Risk Management at Thrivent Financial gave a very informative presentation on Managing Risk in a Rapidly Changing World. This was followed by Byron Franz, Special Agent of the Milwaukee office of the FBI, sharing thoughts on Protecting Wisconsin Businesses against Cyber Threat. Both sessions were informative and action based. With the financial support and sponsorship of Keller, Inc, our Keynote Speaker was Weston Smith. Mr. Smith was the Chief Financial Officer of the prior HealthSouth Company and participated in one of the largest financial statement frauds in history. His presentation on Indecent Disclosure – Behind the Curtain of the HealthSouth Fraud was well delivered and thought-provoking. Click here to continue reading Bob's President's Message. |
